Rare bent ply sofa (Sold) and coffee table/bench. In the manner of Alvar Aalto and Oscar Niemeyer. Beautiful form, both in great condition with age appropriate wear. Sofa has new woven wheat/off white upholstery, bent ply and steel frame. Coffee table is very solid, can be used as a bench. Bent maple ply and black lacquered wood top. Canada, 1950s/60s.
These are most likely prototypes that were never actualized. Possibly Hugh Dodds or Canadian Aircraft Company, both companies produced this manner of bent ply furniture in the 50s and 60s.
