Nanna Ditzel (1923-2005) was the first woman to design for Georg Jensen and was the recipient of many of the most prestigious awards during her long career. Her work has been exhibited globally.
Together with her husband Jørgen Ditzel (1921-1961), they established their own design studio and started to work with wicker in the renowned workshop founded by the famous wicker worker Robert W. in 1950. Ditzel’s experimental approach to materials resulted in multiple innovative furniture made of rattan. This cooperation was the beginning of a renewed status for wicker furniture in interior design.
