Ivan Weiss, (1946- ) is a distinguished Danish ceramist. At the age of sixteen, he began his apprenticeship under Nils Thorsson as an overglaze painter at the Royal Copenhagen Porcelain Manufactory.
In the early 1970s he continued his studies in Hagi, Japan, where he honed his techniques of throwing bowls and firing ceramics. Upon his return to Denmark, he was reemployed as a ceramist at Royal Copenhagen, continuing his collaboration with Nils Thorsson and creating ceramics in a dedicated studio until 2004. Since then, Ivan has worked as a freelance artist for Royal Copenhagen and served as a guest lecturer at the Danish Design School.
