Pumbeeri — Spinning Tops

Inspired by an Aboriginal design from early 19th century, the Pumbeeri is made out of a single piece of wood, coloured with a lac resin. Its shape, rhythm and balance in design reflects a strong connection to the dance of the spinning Sufi Dervish, whirling like a compass pointing to the Divine… holding its ground with smoothness and simplicity.
