Considered one of Sweden’s most important 20th century silversmiths and the first female silversmith to be internationally recognized, Torun was awarded a gold medal at the 1960 Milan Triennale. She also won the American Lunning Prize. She began designing for Jensen in 1969/70. Pablo Picasso, Duke Ellington, Billie Holiday and Ingrid Bergman were among her celebrity customers.
