When Alessi commissioned the design, Sapper told Alberto Alessi: “I want to design a kettle that can be multi-sensorial. Not only to the eyes, but also to the ears.” When the water in the kettle boils, the kettle’s brass whistle emits a short and pleasant melody through unique ‘coristi’ tuning pipes, produced by a German craftsman discovered by Sapper’s sister.
