Gunnar & Lotte Bostlund originated in Copenhagen, Denmark. Gunnar trained at the Technical University as a ceramic engineer; Lotte trained at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts and the Danish School for Arts and Crafts.
They emigrated to Canada after WWII and began developing art pottery- vases, teapots, and salt and pepper shakers. The first lamps were produced in 1956. In the early 60s Morten developed the fiberglass lampshades, and the product we know as Lotte Lamps was complete.
In 1997 the Lotte Lamp business was sold and production continued for about 20 years. The lamps are currently not in production.
