Robert Bade Brooch

Intricate details on this lovely pansy brooch by Otto Robert Bade for Orb. Beautifully crafted with two interlocking pieces of silver. In excellent condition. Marked Orb Sterling.  19 grams of silver, 1 ¾” w x 1 ¾”h. USA, 1960s.

Otto Robert Bade,  (1921-2019), served as the foreman for Rebajes Jewelry during the 1940s and 50s. When Frank Rebajes decided to sell his famous company and move to Spain in late 1950s, Bade purchased Frank Rebajes’ catalog designs and machinery and started his own company under the name of Orb Originals in Pennsylvania in the 1960s. Bade enjoyed great success in the business until 1981. Orb Silversmiths operated from this location for many years and Otto continued to have an active part in the business until he was well into his nineties.
