Elis Kauppi (1924-2001) set Finland on the map for jewelry design and production in the 1950s and 1960s. He started his own firm, Kupittaan Kulta, when has was 24 years old. His sophisticated, modernist designs often include semi-precious stones, some which can be found in Finland.
